Regorafenib - Side Effects, Precautions, and Contraindications

What side effects can Regorafenib cause?

  • Palms of the hands or soles of the feet become numb, sore, red or dry
  • Diarrhea, stomach discomfort
  • Nausea, decreased appetite
  • Mouth sores or ulcers
  • High blood pressure
  • Tiredness or lack of energy
  • Increased risk of infection
    Maintain hygiene, avoid crowds and people with infection. 
  • Voice change or hoarseness

Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:

  • Painful blistering or swelling of hands or feet
  • Signs of unusual bleeding e.g. unexplained bruises or black, sticky stools
  • Chest pain or tightness, shortness of breath
  • Yellowing of the skin or eye, or dark tea-coloured urine
  • Severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting
  • Fever of 38 ˚C or higher
  • Severe headache, giddiness, confusion or change in vision

Before taking Regorafenib , what precautions must I follow?

  • Use effective birth control during treatment and for at least 2 months after stopping Regorafenib. Inform your doctor if you or your partner plan for or suspect pregnancy.
  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you:
    • Have any surgery planned.
    • Have any other medical conditions e.g. high blood pressure, heart problems.
    • Are taking any other medication or supplements.

What food or medicine must I avoid when I take Regorafenib ?

Avoid grapefruit and its juice while you are on this medication.
