Profile
Dr Moo Ing How is a Consultant with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He specialises in minimally-invasive hip and knee replacement surgery, robotic-assisted joint surgery, partial and total knee replacement, as well as complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery. His clinical specialty also encompasses joint preservation surgery, knee osteotomies, sports injuries, and trauma surgeries, including hip fractures and peri-prosthetic fracture fixation.
In 2024, Dr Moo was awarded the AO Reconstruction Arthroplasty Fellowship and completed his Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at Orthopädische Chirurgie München (OCM) Clinic in Munich, Germany. During this period, he honed his expertise in robotic joint replacements, patellofemoral and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, minimally-invasive hip and knee replacement techniques, and revision arthroplasty.
Dr Moo also participated in an advanced anterior approach programme in the United States, where he received specialised training in the Anterior-Based Muscle-Sparing (ABMS) approach to hip replacement. During knee replacement surgery, Dr Moo adopts a muscle-sparing technique combined with the latest kinematic-alignment methods for optimal patient outcomes.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Moo is deeply engaged in research and education. As a strong advocate for outcomes-based research and evidence-driven surgery, he has published numerous papers in leading medical journals and has been invited to share his research on knee and hip replacements at both local and international orthopaedic meetings. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several orthopaedic journals, as well as an examiner for local medical examinations.
