Neurovascular Programme

The neurovascular programme specialises in the management of central nervous system vascular disorders such as aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations (AVMs) and occlusive vascular conditions such as carotid artery disease and Moya-Moya disease. Our multidisciplinary team comprises highly trained Neurovascular surgeons, Neuroanaesthetists and Intensivists, Neuroradiologists and experienced nursing staff.

The surgical treatments offered include:

  • Clipping of cerebral aneurysms
  • Extracranial-intracranial bypass surgery for treatment of giant/complex aneurysms and intracranial occlusive disease
  • Minimally invasive intravascular embolisation of aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations
  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery to treat inoperable AVMs

Surgical treatments are accomplished using the most advanced technology and surgical techniques which include:

  • Microsurgical techniques coupled with intra-operative real time imaging
  • Brain mapping and awake craniotomy techniques
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery used to treat inoperable AVMs

Our facilities comprise:

  • Neurosurgical operating rooms equipped for intra-operative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to allow for microsurgical precision and image-guided stereotaxis
  • Specialised neurocritical care units with state-of-the-art monitoring for postoperative care
  • Inpatient neurologic rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation facilities to assist in post-operative recovery
