Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is currently the second most common and fastest growing neurodegenerative disorder.
In 2019, more than 8,000 people in Singapore were estimated to be living with PD. Now in 2026, that figure is estimated to have exceeded 10,000, due to Singapore's ageing population (Source: National Neuroscience Institute).
Regular exercise is just as important as medication in helping people with Parkinson's stay active, independent and connected. However, access to specialised PD rehabilitation has been limited.
KEEP is designed to empower people with PD to stay active, independent and connected through rehabilitation, education, peer support and caregiver engagement.
It offers a specialised exercise and rehabilitation programme for people with Parkinson’s, providing a structured rehabilitation pathway with personalised support and guidance.
It is co-designed by a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Medical Social Workers, and PD movement disorder specialists from the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).
There are currently two KEEP programmes: KEEP Fit, and KEEP Active.
We are partnering with 6 community partners (Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA), Care Corner, NTUC Health, Parkinson Society Singapore, St Luke’s ElderCare and St Luke’s Hospital) to offer the KEEP programme at various locations across Singapore.
KEEP will be rolling out in phases across 13 Day Rehabilitation Centres (DRCs) in Singapore, from January 2026 to March 2027. The list of 13 centres as well as their commencement dates can be found below:

Anyone diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD) may be referred for the KEEP programme. A physiotherapist from the participating Day Rehabilitation Centre (DRC) will assess your needs and recommend the most suitable programme for you.
Yes. Participation in KEEP requires a referral. Referrals can be made by healthcare professionals from hospitals, specialist clinics, polyclinics, or General Practitioner (GP) clinics.
KEEP Fit focuses on improving fitness, endurance, strength, and physical activity through targeted exercise training and fitness monitoring.
KEEP Active focuses on managing Parkinson's symptoms and improving daily function. It includes rehabilitation activities such as movement strategies, fall prevention, and training in daily living activities.
The physiotherapist at the Day Rehabilitation Centre will recommend the programme that best matches your needs and goals.
Both KEEP Fit and KEEP Active are conducted twice a week over a period of 12 weeks.
After completing the programme, participants may opt to transit to other programmes offered by the DRC they are enrolled in, or opt to join community-based health activities such as Active Aging Centres, Healthy 365, or attend ActiveSG gyms.
The KEEP Project Coordinators will also stay in touch and conduct follow-up check-ins every six months for up to two years to support your long-term rehabilitation journey.
Programme fees may vary depending on the participating centre and your eligibility for subsidies. The staff at your selected Day Rehabilitation Centre will provide detailed fee information during enrolment.
MOH Household Means-testing Subsidies are available for eligible Singapore Citizens/Singapore Permanent Residents.
