Neurosurgery

Synonym(s):

The Department of Neurosurgery, at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, comprises a team of highly trained specialists, and nurse clinicians and nurses who are all equipped to provide patients with care in the field of neurosurgery. Our specialists offer extensive expertise in areas such as treatment of brain tumours, neurovascular disorders, spine disorders and head injury. We have achieved status as a tertiary regional referral centre and we aim to establish international reputation for both clinical and academic excellence.

The Department of Neurosurgery trains many of the practising neurosurgeons in Singapore, and it remains today the largest in Singapore in terms of number of neurosurgeons, patient load and number of surgical procedures performed. In Singapore, our well equipped hospitals have enhanced the quality of care for our patients and changed the art and practice of neurosurgery.

The Department of Neurosurgery is also proud to be designated by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Society (WFNS) as a neurosurgery postgraduate fellowship training centre. With this designation, the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) joins the ranks of other renowned training centres such as National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, the New York University in USA, and Fujita Health University in Japan.
