Neurology

The Department of Neurology is the national referral centre for patients with neurological conditions. The Neurology Department at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), consists of a strong team of highly trained specialists, and nurses from various neurological sub-specialties who treat different kinds of brain and nervous system diseases. 

 

Since its inception, the Department has focused on developing evidence based management guidelines and a high standard of patient management. It also focuses on clinical research and teaching. Several multidisciplinary programmes have been established, including stroke, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, Alzheimer's disease and dementia, epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders. To improve accessibility of such programmes to patients, subspecialty outpatient clinics have been introduced.
