About Researcher

Dr Hu Zhenyu is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Calcium Signaling Laboratory led by Assoc Prof Liao Ping at the National Neuroscience Institute, specialising in neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases by modulating voltage-gated calcium channels. His research focuses on understanding the calcium channel dysfunction mediated by its functional binding proteins, such as Galectins, Filamins and deubiquitinases, in the disease models of vascular dementia, hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy, with particular emphasis on development of novel peptide-based therapeutics.
