Dr Josiah Chai is Head & Senior Consultant at the National Neuroscience Institute, Department of Neurology (NNI@TTSH). In addition, he is also in charge of the Neuromuscular Laboratory in National Neuroscience Institute.
He graduated in Medicine from the National University of Singapore in 1994, completed his Basic Specialty Training in Internal Medicine and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 1999. Subsequently, he joined NNI in 2000 and completed his neurology training in 2003. He underwent fellowship in neuromuscular diseases and electromyography at the University of Rochester Neuromuscular Center, New York, where he spent about two years. Dr Chai’s special interest is in the evaluation and management of neuromuscular diseases. Besides doing electromyography studies, he also reads muscle biopsies.
