Innovative Research

1 in 6 will suffer a stroke in their lifetime.

1 in 10 aged 60 and above has dementia.

3 in every 1,000 aged 50 and above has Parkinson’s disease.

Our researchers are working hard to find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat these disabling conditions. But we need to work faster.

Already, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has predicted that by 2040, neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease will overtake cancer to become the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease.1

The NNI Fund (Research) helps accelerate medical research discoveries to better understand, prevent, diagnose and treat neurological conditions. Research efforts will help to advance medicine and ultimately transform patient care.

Together, we can design the future of neuroscience care.

NNI HREF Financial Information for FY22

Plans are underway for NNI HREF to be subsumed as part of the NNI Fund under the umbrella of SingHealth Fund (SHF) in the next few years. The causes that the NNI Fund supports remain unchanged and they include neuroscience research, patient care and education. Donors who have been giving regularly to the NNI HREF will continue to receive tax deductions and will be notified of any changes in due course.
