18th Singapore International Stroke Conference

Conferences

Overview

We are pleased to announce that the 18th Singapore International Stroke Conference will take place from 25 to 27 March 2021. Organised by the National Neuroscience Institute, the Singapore International Stroke Conference has a long history as one of the largest academic stroke meetings in Southeast Asia.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be a virtual meeting, however the programme will still be informative and interactive. As one of very few regional stroke conferences to take place during the pandemic, we are confident of large participation from local and overseas doctors, nurses, scientists and allied health professionals.

The theme of the conference is "Building Bridges for Stroke Care". It reflects the need for collaboration to strengthen bridges between different professional groups caring for stroke patients, between the basic sciences and clinical care, as well as between the different stages of a stroke patient’s journey. These stages include Hyperacute, Acute, Step Down for aftercare, Rehabilitation, Support Group’s aid and Life After Stroke. The conference will include the latest advances in care at different stages as well as stroke issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be a transprofessional element throughout the programme for delegates to learn from the perspective of other healthcare professionals and from patients themselves.

Despite being online, the conference’s main programme and pre-conference topical sessions will continue to be delivered by international and local faculty. The session timings and channels have been planned to promote discussion, two-way communication and interaction between faculty and participants. This meeting will also be a great lead up to the World Stroke Organization’s World Stroke Conference which will be held in Singapore in 2022.

We look forward to seeing you at our 18th Singapore International Stroke Conference virtual meeting in March 2021. Keep safe and well.

Warmest regards,

Associate Professor Deidre Anne De Silva
