Profile

Dr Tay Kae Sian completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore, and was appointed as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019. He subsequently completed fellowships with advanced training in complex foot and ankle surgery and in lower limb reconstruction and deformity correction at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and the Hull Royal Infirmary respectively, in the UK. His expertise includes foot and ankle surgery, lower limb trauma, deformity correction and limb reconstruction, and the use of the Ilizarov external fixator. 

Dr Tay strongly advocates individualised holistic patient care, which is important in achieving the best possible outcome for each patient. 

Outside of clinical work, Dr Tay also contributes to medical education by teaching in medical schools as well as surgeons in post-graduate training programs. He firmly believes in mentorship of future generations of doctors. He has been appointed to teaching positions in all 3 local medical schools. 

Dr Tay is also actively involved in orthopaedic research. He believes in the power of clinical research to change practices and improve outcomes for patients. He has published and presented multiple studies worldwide, in conferences and medical journals, and has been invited to give multiple talks at international conferences.
